Research Interests
I am currently interested in various neurorehabilitation issues in traumatic brain injury including the nature of injury-related cognitive deficit, the predictors of functional recovery, and the mechanisms of treatment efficacy. My lab uses state-of-the-art neuropsychological and neuroimaging tools to study these topics.
Current projects
A longitudinal multi-modal neuroimaging investigation of functional recovery after diffuse traumatic brain injury (funded by NINDS, NIH) Evaluation of spatial normalization protocols for brains with focal lesions (funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health) Restoration of consciousness with zolpidem, and exploration of the neural substrate of this response (collaboration with Dr. John Whyte and the TBI Rehabilitation Research Lab) fMRI correlates of attention and executive function and their response to psychoactive medications (collaboration with Dr. John Whyte and the TBI Rehabilitation Research Lab)
